If you’re planning a Disneyland Paris trip but do not want to pay Disney Hotel prices, staying at a campsite or lodge nearby can be a brilliant alternative.

Over the years, we’ve done lots of Eurocamp-style holidays across Europe as a family of six, particularly in Italy and the Netherlands, and honestly, this type of holiday works really well for families.

You usually get:

  • far more space
  • swimming pools and play areas
  • self-catering facilities
  • cheaper overall costs
  • better options for larger families
  • and much more flexibility for longer trips

For us personally, this style of accommodation often makes more sense than staying in a Disney Hotel.

We prefer having more space, proper dining options nearby and the ability to cook some meals ourselves rather than eating Disney food for several days straight.

Are Campsites Near Disneyland Paris Worth It?

Honestly, yes. Especially for families.

A lot of people assume campsites near Disneyland Paris are basic tent pitches, but many are actually large family holiday parks with:

  • swimming pools
  • waterslides
  • restaurants
  • playgrounds
  • sports facilities
  • kids clubs
  • cabins and mobile homes
  • self-catering accommodation

Some feel more like mini resorts than campsites.

This type of accommodation works especially well for:

  • larger families
  • road trips from the UK
  • longer Disneyland Paris holidays
  • Paris + Disney multi-centre trips
  • families wanting pools and outdoor space
  • budget-conscious Disney trips

Best Overall Campsite Near Disneyland Paris

La Croix du Vieux Pont

📍 Berny-Rivière
🚗 Around 1 hour from Disneyland Paris

If you only choose one campsite near Disneyland Paris, this is probably the strongest overall option.

La Croix du Vieux Pont is hugely popular with UK families and genuinely feels more like a holiday resort than a campsite.

Facilities include:

  • large indoor and outdoor pools
  • waterslides
  • lagoon-style beach area
  • sports facilities
  • playgrounds
  • restaurants and bars
  • lake activities
  • evening entertainment

Accommodation options range from basic mobile homes to larger family lodges.

Camping La Croix du Vieux

This works best if you want a mixed holiday rather than spending every single day inside Disneyland Paris itself.

Personally, this is the kind of place we would use for:

  • a longer summer holiday
  • combining Paris and Disney
  • relaxing pool days between park visits

Although it is further away than some of the other options, the parc does run Disneyland Paris excursions and transport options during parts of the season, so many families stay here without needing to drive to the parks every day.

Closest Eurocamp to Disneyland Paris

Paris-Est

📍 Paris-Champigny
🚗 Around 30 minutes from Disneyland Paris

If proximity to Disneyland Paris matters most, Paris-Est is one of the best options.

The parc sits beside the River Marne and gives relatively easy access to both Disneyland Paris and central Paris.

This makes it ideal for:

  • first-time Paris visitors
  • shorter Disney trips
  • combining sightseeing with Disney
  • families wanting easier access to the city

Facilities are more limited compared to larger Eurocamp parcs, but the location is the biggest selling point here.

This one feels more like a practical base than a full resort-style holiday parc.

Best Budget Eurocamp Near Disneyland Paris

Le Chêne Gris

📍 Pommeuse
🚆 Train station nearby
🚗 Around 30 minutes from Disneyland Paris

Le Chêne Gris is probably one of the best budget-friendly options near Disneyland Paris.

It has:

  • family-friendly pools
  • splash areas
  • playgrounds
  • a smaller relaxed atmosphere
  • direct train access nearby

One of the biggest advantages here is the location beside the train station.

You can reach both Disneyland Paris and central Paris from here without needing a car, which is a huge bonus if you are flying over and do not want the extra cost or stress of hiring one.

Le Chene Gris

That combination of:

  • lower accommodation prices
  • public transport access
  • pools and family facilities

makes this one of the strongest value options in the area.

Best for a Longer France Road Trip

Country Park

📍 Touquin
🚗 Around 35 minutes from Disneyland Paris

Country Park is a quieter woodland-style campsite that works well if you want a more relaxed countryside feel.

Facilities include:

  • heated outdoor pool
  • restaurant and bar
  • family activities
  • river setting
  • outdoor play areas

This is not the most “Disney-themed” or resort-style option, but it works well for:

  • road trips
  • stopovers
  • quieter holidays
  • families combining multiple destinations in France

Best Disney Alternative

Disney Davy Crockett Ranch

📍 Around 15 minutes from Disneyland Paris by car

Technically this is not a campsite, but honestly, it deserves including because it fits the same type of holiday.

Disney Davy Crockett Ranch offers self-catering woodland cabins rather than traditional hotel rooms.

For larger families, this can actually work out far better than standard Disney Hotels.

You get:

  • separate living areas
  • kitchen facilities
  • outdoor space
  • woodland setting
  • pool complex
  • Disney theming
  • Extra Magic Time

Davy Crocketts at Disneyland Paris

This is probably the closest thing to combining a Disney Hotel stay with a lodge holiday.

However, you absolutely need a car here because there is no shuttle bus to the parks.

Other Campsites Near Disneyland Paris Worth Looking At

Parc des Roches

Better suited for Paris and Parc Astérix combinations rather than purely Disneyland Paris.

Les Fontaines

A quieter countryside option that works better for relaxing France holidays with occasional Disney days.

Le Grand Paris

Good location for exploring the wider Île-de-France region but less Disney-focused overall.

Is Staying Off-Site Better Than a Disney Hotel?

Honestly, it depends on your priorities.

We’ve personally always stayed off-site at Disneyland Paris.

Partly because as annual pass holders, Disney Hotel packages never made financial sense for us. But also because we genuinely prefer:

  • larger accommodation
  • self-catering options
  • swimming pools
  • better restaurants nearby
  • extra space
  • more flexibility

Val d’Europe especially is somewhere we love staying because you get proper restaurants, supermarkets and far more choice in the evenings.

Disney Hotels absolutely have advantages:

  • walkable access
  • Extra Magic Time
  • immersive Disney atmosphere
  • character experiences

But for larger families or budget-conscious trips, campsites and lodge holidays can offer far better overall value.

Tips for Booking Campsites Near Disneyland Paris

Book Early for School Holidays

Especially summer and October half term.

Check Whether You Need a Car

Some sites are much easier with a car than others.

Consider Multi-Centre Trips

Many of these parcs work brilliantly combined with:

  • Paris
  • Parc Astérix
  • road trips through France

Look at Accommodation Size Carefully

For larger families, campsites often provide much better sleeping arrangements than standard hotel rooms.

Pool Facilities Matter

If you are visiting during summer, a good pool can completely change the experience for kids.

Are Campsites Near Disneyland Paris Cheaper?

Usually, yes.

Especially for:

  • families of 5+
  • longer stays
  • summer holidays
  • self-catering trips

Once you factor in:

  • cooking some meals
  • larger accommodation
  • included facilities
  • pool access
  • free parking

the savings can become significant compared to staying in official Disney Hotels.

Campsite vs Disney Hotel

If you want the full Disney bubble experience, staying on-site at Disneyland Paris is hard to beat.

But if you want:

  • more space
  • lower costs
  • pools and outdoor facilities
  • self-catering
  • flexibility
  • better value for larger families

then campsites and Eurocamp-style stays can work incredibly well.

Honestly, for families, they are one of the most underrated ways to do Disneyland Paris on a budget without sacrificing the overall holiday experience.
