Carcassonne Castle Breaks from £191pp -Flights + Hotel Deals

14th April | Sarah

If you’ve ever wanted to stay somewhere that genuinely feels like stepping into a fairytale, this is it 👀

I’ve found some really good-value trips to Carcassonne, and the best part? The hotel is right by the castle walls!

Why Carcassonne is worth visiting

Carcassonne is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe, with huge stone walls, towers and cobbled streets you can just wander for hours.

Inside the citadel you’ve got:

  • The impressive castle at the centre
  • Little shops and restaurants hidden down side streets
  • Incredible views from the ramparts

It’s compact, easy to explore, and perfect for a short break.

📍 What you can do while you’re there

You don’t need a packed itinerary here, but a few ideas:

  • Walk the full castle walls
  • Visit the castle (Château Comtal)
  • Wander the cobbled streets inside the citadel
  • Grab a drink or meal with a view of the towers
  • Head down to the lower town for a change of pace

It’s one of those places where just exploring is enough.

💡 Tips for visiting

  • Go early morning or evening for the best atmosphere
  • Wear comfy shoes (lots of cobbles!)
  • It can get hot in summer, so take water
  • You don’t need a car, everything is walkable

This is such an easy, low-cost European break with a bit of a wow factor.
