Extreme Day Trips from London to Italy

Extreme Day Trips to Italy from London this May

12th April | Sarah

I’ve found some really good-value flights from London Stansted to Italy this May and yes, these are all doable as Extreme Day Trips 👀

That means early out, late back, and a full day exploring — no hotel needed.

I’ve listed the flights below along with a few ideas of what you could actually do in each place 👇

🇮🇹 Pisa – £31 (11th May)

Perfect for a quick wander. You’ve got the Leaning Tower, the cathedral, and the whole area around Piazza dei Miracoli all within walking distance. Ideal for a relaxed day.

🇮🇹 Verona – £38 (12th May)

One of my favourites. Think Juliet’s balcony, a beautiful old town, and a proper Italian atmosphere without the chaos of bigger cities.

🇮🇹 Milan Bergamo – £30 (12th May)

Perfect if you want a mix of sightseeing and shopping. The Duomo is a must, and you can easily fill a full day just wandering the centre.

🇮🇹 Turin – £34 (13th May)

A bit more under the radar. Beautiful squares, cafes, and a slower pace. Great if you want something a little different.

🇮🇹 Genoa – £36 (15th May)

A proper working Italian port city. Expect colourful streets, great food, and a more authentic feel.

Some of these are a little more expensive, but definitely worth including.

🇮🇹 Ancona – £30 (14th May)

Not your typical tourist spot, but that’s what makes it interesting. Coastal views, local vibes, and somewhere a bit different.

🇮🇹 Naples – £63 (19th May)

One of the best for food. Pizza, street food, and loads to see. You could even squeeze in a quick trip towards Pompeii if you plan it right.

🇮🇹 Rome – £75 (16th May)

A big one, but still doable. Think Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps… you’ll be busy, but it’s 100% worth it.

🇮🇹 Venice – £64 (20th May)

Wander the canals, grab a gelato, and just get lost. You don’t need a plan here — that’s the whole point.

🇮🇹 Olbia – £59 (6th May)

If you fancy something different, this gives you a taste of Sardinia. Beaches, clear water, and a completely different feel to mainland Italy.
