If you’re trying to keep costs down at Disneyland Paris, this is one of the first questions people ask.
Because food inside the parks isn’t cheap, and when you’re travelling as a family, it adds up quickly.
So can you actually bring your own food into Disneyland Paris?
Yes, you can take your own food and drinks into Disneyland Paris.
There are no rules stopping you bringing snacks, sandwiches or bottled drinks into the parks.
But there are a few restrictions and practical things worth knowing before you do.
I’ve visited Disneyland Paris nearly 20 times in all seasons and was previously an annual pass holder, so I’ve experienced the parks in very different ways — from quick trips to longer stays. I also completed Disney Cruise Line training, Disney’s College of Knowledge, and official Disneyland Paris training during my time working as a travel agent, including attending a Disney FAM trip. So while everything here is based on real personal experience, it’s also backed up by a solid understanding of how Disney holidays actually work in practice.

You can bring most everyday food and snacks into the parks, including:
We’ve taken snacks in ourselves on multiple trips and never had any issues at all.
Bringing your own food is also really helpful if you have specific dietary needs. If you’re travelling with allergies, intolerances, or a child with ARFID or very particular food preferences, having familiar and safe foods with you can make the day much easier and far less stressful.
There are a few restrictions to be aware of:
Bags are checked at security on entry, so it’s best to keep things simple and easy to carry.
There aren’t any official picnic areas inside the parks.
You’ll also see signs at the entrance saying “no picnics”, which can be a bit confusing at first. This refers to full picnic setups, such as cool boxes, large food spreads or anything that looks like a proper sit-down picnic, rather than bringing in your own packed lunch.
In practice, people regularly eat their own food throughout the parks. You can sit on benches, find quieter spots, or just take a break wherever suits you during the day.
If you do want a proper picnic setup, there are areas just outside the park entrance before security where this is allowed.
We once went to the supermarket at Val d’Europe before heading into the parks and didn’t have time to go back to the hotel before the parade and fireworks.
So we ended up taking four full carrier bags of food into Disneyland Paris.
We went through security, bags were checked, and no one said a thing. We actually checked them into left luggage once inside (this was free with an annual pass), and again, there were no issues at all.
So while Disney clearly prefers guests to buy food inside the parks, in reality bringing your own food, even in larger amounts, is absolutely fine.
For most families, it definitely is.
Food is one of the biggest hidden costs at Disneyland Paris, and it can add up quickly over a few days. Bringing your own food helps keep spending under control, reduces the amount of time you spend queueing, and generally makes the day feel more relaxed.
That said, most people don’t avoid buying food completely. It’s still part of the experience, and we usually end up doing a mix of both.
We usually stay self-catering in Val d’Europe, often at the Adagio Val d’Europe, which has its own kitchen.
When we visit Disneyland Paris, we don’t rely fully on food inside the parks.

This means we can eat breakfast at the apartment before heading out, then make up sandwiches and snacks to take into the park with us.
During the day, we’ll either buy one main meal inside Disneyland Paris or head back to Val d’Europe in the evening, where there are plenty of restaurants to choose from.
It works really well because it keeps costs down massively, avoids constant queues for food, and still lets you enjoy eating out as part of the trip.
