If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland Paris, one of the biggest questions is usually:
What time does Disneyland Paris actually open?
And more importantly:
What time should you arrive?
Because there’s a huge difference between the official opening time and the time you realistically need to be there if you want to avoid long queues and make the most of your day.
We’ve visited Disneyland Paris in every season, including summer holidays, Halloween, Christmas and quieter midweek trips, and timing genuinely changes the entire experience.
In this guide, I’ll cover:

Disneyland Paris is open every day of the year.
In most cases, both parks officially open at around 9:30am.
This includes:
However, closing times vary much more depending on the season, crowd levels and special events taking place.
During quieter winter periods, parks may close earlier, while summer, Halloween and Christmas often have much longer evening hours.
The official opening time also isn’t the whole story.
A lot of guests are already inside the parks before standard opening through Extra Magic Time.
Extra Magic Time allows certain guests to enter the parks before official opening hours.
This is usually available to:
Extra Magic Time normally begins from around 8:30am.
This gives guests early access to selected attractions before the main crowds arrive. Not every ride is open during Extra Magic Time, but many of the major attractions are.
Current rides commonly available during Extra Magic Time include:
Ride availability can still vary slightly depending on maintenance, seasonal operations and crowd levels, so it’s always worth checking the Disneyland Paris app on the day of your visit.
Even getting on just a few major rides early can save a huge amount of queueing later in the day. On busy trips, we’ve seen major attractions already building long queues not long after standard opening time.
Opening hours at Disneyland Paris change throughout the year.
These aren’t exact guaranteed times, but they give you a realistic idea of what to expect.
This is when opening hours are usually shortest.
Disneyland Park often closes around 8pm–9pm, while Disney Adventure World may close earlier.
This is also one of the quieter periods outside of school holidays.
Spring usually brings slightly longer opening hours and more evening entertainment.
Closing times often move towards 9pm–10pm depending on the time of year.
Summer normally has the longest park hours of the year.
Disneyland Park can stay open until 10pm or 11pm during peak periods.
These are also some of the busiest months to visit.
Halloween is one of the most popular times at Disneyland Paris.
Extended evening hours are common, especially closer to Halloween itself.
The parks feel very different at night during this season.
Christmas also brings longer evening hours and a much bigger focus on nighttime atmosphere.
Main Street and the castle area become particularly busy in the evenings during Christmas trips.
If you’re planning a seasonal visit, we also have separate guides for
In our experience, arriving early makes one of the biggest differences to your day.
A lot of visitors arrive at the official opening time, but by then security queues, bag checks and entrance lines are often already busy.
If you’re visiting during quieter midweek periods, arriving around 8:45am is usually reasonable.
However, during weekends, school holidays, Halloween or Christmas, we’d personally aim for closer to 8:00am–8:30am instead.
If you have access to Extra Magic Time, arriving early becomes even more important.
Some rides can already build significant waits before normal guests even enter the parks.
For one-day trips especially, getting there early can completely change how much you manage to do.
Many rides begin operating during Extra Magic Time, while others open at standard park opening.
Popular attractions available early often include rides like:
Not every attraction opens immediately, and operational schedules can still vary slightly day-to-day.
If you’re visiting during quieter months, some rides may also open slightly later.

Since the launch of Disney Adventure World in 2026, the closing pattern between the two parks has changed quite a bit.
In the past, Disneyland Park often stayed open noticeably later than Walt Disney Studios Park.
Now, both parks frequently close much closer together, especially during busier periods and seasonal events.
This is mainly because Disney Adventure World now has its own nighttime entertainment around Adventure Bay lake, including Disney Cascade of Lights.
Disneyland Park still remains the main location for the castle fireworks and nighttime spectaculars, but evenings are now much busier across both parks than they used to be.
That said, exact closing times still vary depending on:
So it’s always worth checking the Disneyland Paris app before your visit rather than assuming one park will definitely stay open later than the other.
Fireworks and nighttime shows usually begin at park closing time.
So if the park closes at:
The exact timings vary throughout the year.

Main Street and the castle area become extremely busy closer to showtime.

Quick service restaurants usually begin opening shortly after park opening.
Table service restaurants often begin lunch service around midday.
Character dining breakfasts can start earlier.

Earlier is almost always better.

A lot of visitors arrive later in the morning, take long midday breaks and leave before park closing.
That’s usually when the parks feel hardest to manage.
Even just adjusting your arrival time by an hour can make a huge difference to your overall experience.
